NEUROGENETICS ACADEMY

The Online Private School

15 years of learning science.
One school built around it.

Since 2011, Neurogenetics Institute has studied how people learn — and applied that knowledge in private schools and colleges in London, UK. Our methods were developed, tested and refined through years of real educational practice. Now we are bringing the complete Institute approach directly to families.

A school built around the learner — not a system that expects every learner to fit the same mould.

Why the Institute Is Different

Four things most online schools can’t offer.

We didn’t start by building an online school. We spent years studying learning and developing the methods first — then applying them in private schools and colleges in London, UK. The Neurogenetics Academy is the result. These four things are what fifteen years of that work produced; everything else on this page hangs off them.

🧠

Designed on learning science

The Institute's model was developed by a group of scientists and educators around what neuroscience actually says about memory, attention and motivation — then taught by subject specialists, every one with 10+ years of teaching experience.

🔒

Genuinely small classes

Live, interactive classes capped at 10 students — 8 at A-Level. Your child is taught, not broadcast to. Every assignment is marked by a teacher.

🧬

School and Synapse, one system

The live school and the Synapse adaptive engine live in the same platform — so practice targets exactly what lessons revealed, automatically.

👀

Parents see everything

A Parent Portal with mastery by topic, teacher feedback and weekly written reports — you never have to wonder whether it’s working.

The Learning Loop

Six steps. Every week.

This is how your child’s learning moves through the school — a weekly rhythm tailored to their needs, their progress and their learning profile. It discovers, teaches, practises, strengthens, measures and improves. Then it goes round again.

01

Discover

It starts with the Brain Profile diagnostic: we map how your child learns before teaching begins.

02

Learn

Structured live lessons with subject specialists — every one with 10+ years of teaching experience — on a real Monday–Friday timetable.

03

Practise

Synapse adaptive practice targets each child’s weaknesses — automatically, every day.

04

Retrieve

Spaced repetition brings knowledge back at the right moment, so it sticks.

05

Master

Mastery and weak-spot tracking show exactly what is secure — and what still needs work.

06

Improve

Teachers and parents respond to the evidence: teaching, missions and feedback adjust to the child — and the loop begins again.

What Your Child Gets

Eight parts. One school experience.

These are the eight components of a full school place — the parts that power the Learning Loop above. Every one of them is included in every stage from KS1 to A-Level.

🧠

Brain Profile

Every child begins with the diagnostic. We learn how their mind works before we teach it.

🎓

Live classes

Real teaching on a real timetable, Monday to Friday, in small groups — every lesson recorded.

🧬

Synapse practice

The adaptive engine personalises practice — question by question, weakness by weakness.

🔁

Spaced revision

Retrieval practice is built into the week, so knowledge is retained — not just covered.

🎯

Daily missions

Each day, your child knows exactly what to study today — and why.

📊

Mastery tracking

What’s secure, what’s improving and what needs work — visible to you in the Parent Portal.

🧪

Learning Lab

Our signature programme teaches the science of learning itself — revision, recall, exam technique.

🤝

Manners & Character

Timetabled every week — education, not just instruction.

How the school and Synapse fit together

The school carries the human side: live teaching, structure, marking, support. Synapse carries the personalisation: practice that adapts question by question, mastery tracking across every skill, and spaced revision that schedules itself.

Because they live in the same system, each strengthens the other — explore Synapse →

Who Teaches Your Child

Built by a group of scientists and educators

The Institute was developed by a group of scientists and educators brought together around one idea: education should work with the brain, not against it. Together they shaped the Institute learning system — the Brain Profile, the Learning Loop, Synapse's adaptive engine and the Learning Lab — into one British online school.

Misbah Chaudry

Founder · Director · Medical Geneticist & Neuroscientist

A medical geneticist and neuroscientist with 15+ years’ experience, Misbah founded the Institute after years of studying how the brain learns — and seeing how conventional schools fail children who don’t fit the mould. As Director, she leads the Institute day to day: bringing together the scientists and educators behind the Institute learning system and making sure it delivers for every child.

She leads the teaching team, teaches across the programme and communicates directly with parents — supported by subject specialists, all with 10+ years of teaching experience, including specialist subject teaching at GCSE and A-Level. In classes capped at 10 (8 at A-Level), every child is known by name: their strengths, their gaps, and what they need next. Experienced subject specialists support the GCSE and A-Level classes alongside her.

“I started this school because I believe education should work with the brain, not against it. Small classes aren’t a luxury — they’re how real teaching happens. Every child deserves a teacher who knows them.”

Why we cap class sizes

Most online schools charge £100–£300 a month because they stream 50 to 100 students into a single broadcast lecture where your child is just a name in a chatbox.

We operate differently. Every class at Neurogenetics Institute is a live, interactive seminar strictly limited to 10 students (8 at A-Level). Your child is taught directly by teachers who mark every assignment individually, track their progress, and mentor them — that is only possible when classes are genuinely small.

The Institute Timeline

Built over 15 years. Now open more widely.

The Neurogenetics Academy wasn’t built overnight. It is the culmination of the Institute’s work — and it has already been operating.

2011

Neurogenetics Institute begins its work — studying how people learn: memory, attention, cognition and learning.

THEN

Our work moves into the private education sector — applying and refining our methods in private schools and colleges in London, UK.

~2 YRS

The Neurogenetics Academy operates — teaching real students while the model, teaching approach and systems continue to develop.

NOW

We are opening the school more publicly — bringing the full Institute approach directly to families. The school isn’t new; the access is.

Classes stay deliberately small so that families receive close communication and direct access to the people responsible for their child’s education. As our students progress, we intend to publish genuine outcomes and verified parent feedback.

Exams

One board, taught deeply. Exam entry, guided.

📖 One exam board, taught properly

All live classes teach the Edexcel specification — IGCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and GCSE English. One board, taught deeply, rather than four taught thinly.

📍 Exam centres, guided

Exams are sat as a private candidate at an external exam centre registered with your exam board. When exam season approaches, we’ll help you find a nearby centre and walk you through the registration paperwork — you don’t navigate it alone.

Common Questions

Parent FAQ

The questions this page hasn’t already answered.

How long has the school been running?

The Neurogenetics Academy has been operating for around two years, following a decade and a half of the Institute's research and work in private schools and colleges in London, UK. We are now opening it more publicly — trial days are available to experience it first.

What subjects are taught?

KS1–KS3: English, Maths, Science, Arabic, Learning Lab, Manners & Character, Enrichment. GCSE: English Language, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Arabic, Exam Skills. A-Level: Sciences and Maths.

Are lessons recorded?

Yes, every lesson is recorded. Recordings are a safety net for missed classes and a revision resource — not a replacement for live attendance.

How is homework marked?

Every assignment is individually marked by the teacher with written feedback. Synapse adaptive practice is automatically marked, but homework is human-marked.

What is the £10 class taster?

A fully refundable deposit that lets your child attend a real live class. If you decide to join, the £10 is refunded against your enrolment — so the taster costs you nothing. If it’s not for you, you’ve simply had a real class for £10.

How do I contact a real person?

WhatsApp 07907 605463 — we reply within one working day. You can also email [email protected].
