Every child at the Neurogenetics Academy is taught in a safe, monitored environment by adults who have been properly vetted. We take our responsibility for child welfare seriously.
✅ What We Do
- ✓ Enhanced DBS checks — all teachers and adults in direct contact with children hold current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, the UK standard for child-facing roles
- ✓ A managed learning environment — all live classes, homework and communication happen inside a supervised, logged environment, visible to parents through the Parent Portal
- ✓ Parent Portal oversight — every parent has a dashboard showing their child's classes, homework, progress, attendance and teacher feedback in real time
- ✓ Age-appropriate access — students under 16 require a parent account to enrol; parents manage their child's enrolment and billing
- ✓ No unmonitored direct messaging — teacher-student communication happens through the platform (notifications, homework feedback), not private channels
- ✓ Parent-controlled enrolment — parents choose which classes their child joins and can remove them at any time
- ✓ Attendance tracking — repeated absences are flagged to parents automatically
- ✓ GDPR compliant — children's data is stored securely; parents can export or delete their child's account data at any time

Our teaching runs inside a managed education platform (families receive their child’s access on the dashboard after enrolment). We chose it because it provides:
