Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

1. The Service

The Neurogenetics Institute ("the Institute", "we", "us") provides an online educational practice platform — including the Neurogenetics Academy, adaptive assessments and progress tracking — designed to help students study more effectively. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Subscription & Billing

Neurogenetics Academy membership is offered in five tiers by key stage: KS1 (£495/month), KS2 (£595/month), KS3 (£675/month), GCSE / IGCSE (£750/month), and A-Level (£850/month) — KS1, KS2 and KS3 follow the CGP and Collins curriculum (the UK national curriculum standard); GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level follow AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge exam board specifications. Each tier includes live classes, recordings, adaptive practice, homework with feedback and parent reports — all tiers are billed monthly through our payment provider (Stripe). Upfront payment via bank transfer is available with a 5% discount for annual commitments.

  • School places are offered on a full-year basis, which allows us to provide consistent teaching, planning and support throughout the year. Monthly billing spreads the year's fees; annual billing is one payment.
  • The place is held for your child for the full school year — small classes mean it was turned away from another family.
  • We understand that circumstances can change. If something serious or unexpected happens, please speak to us — we will always look at the situation carefully and do our best to help.
  • Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights, including the right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the service responsibly. In particular, you must not:

  • Cheat or game the platform — for example, exploiting bugs to inflate scores, sharing answer keys, or automating practice to earn certificates dishonestly.
  • Share your account — each account is for a single user. Sharing logins, or reselling access, is not permitted.
  • Scrape or copy the service — you may not scrape, harvest or reuse our questions, content or data for any other product or dataset.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

4. Educational Content & Limitation of Liability

All content on the platform is provided for general educational purposes only. The Institute does not guarantee any particular exam result, grade or outcome — your results depend on your own effort and circumstances. The service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Institute is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.

5. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. The Institute may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, abuse the service, or engage in conduct that harms other users or the platform. See our Privacy Policy Safeguarding for how data is handled after deletion.

6. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Contact

If you have any questions about these Terms, email [email protected] or use our contact page.
